BLINDS TYPES
Faux Wood blinds unlike Wood Blinds normally only come in three sizes; 2", 2.5" & on rare occasions, 3". Vertical Blinds, normally 3.5" also fall into the category of Faux Blinds at NVS. Faux Wood Blinds can be very beautiful depending on the quality you choose. Many of the Big Box stores have carried 'Cut down' Blinds for years that are very poor quality. Mechanical parts & headrails made of cheap plastic rather than quality materials, strings all over the place with no child safety whatsoever considered. Those days are over as of Dec 15, 2018.

While corded Faux Wood Blinds will still be available, the market has really taken a turn in the cord free direction. Corded Blinds will eventually end up being more expensive than Cordless and will be pushed out of the marketplace. Until then though, here is a picture of some wonderful corded 2.5" Faux Wood Blinds that are still very available.

Wood Blinds come in quite a variety of sizes, wood types and colors, depending on the vendor you choose. They also now have many different mechanism options with the advent of power and child safety regulations. Most Wood Blinds are made out of Basswood or Poplar. But there are exotics available IE; Oak, Cherry & Maple. Wood Blinds can be either painted or stained and can be very beautiful. While we at NVS really love Wood Blinds, we are partial to the stained version which highlight the wood’s natural grain and unique characteristics.
Also, for the most part, Wood Blinds are going to be more expensive than Faux Wood Blinds. So if you are looking for a white tone, the Faux Wood is normally a less expensive choice.

Aluminum Blinds, believe it or not, are still a very popular product. Many people remember the old days when mini blinds were either made out of metal or plastic. The Aluminum Blinds of today have a very wide range of quality differences. A better or best quality Aluminum Blind can actually be as or more expensive that a Faux Wood Blind. While most Aluminum Blinds are used in commercial offices and high rises, there are still some pretty nice products out there that merit being used in residential decor
The best color pallet selections for any Blinds are most normally Aluminum Blinds.
